A ‘Thank you message’ from Wild2Free

I have had an email from Rae Harvey at Wild2Free thanking us for our donation, which will help the kangaroos. It sounds like your efforts are much appreciated, so well done!

Sending a Hug.

Yesterday, Teddy, Archie and their mum walked 2.5 miles up the Brown Clee Hill to send a hug in the form of a helium filled heart balloon. Their balloon travelled 28 miles!

What a lovely idea in such difficult times! Here is a photo of Teddy with his ‘hug.’

Damper Recipe

Joel, Sam and Zac have been making Damper, a traditional Australian bread. Here’s the recipe from Joel’s mum if you want to give it a go!

Hive Game – Class 3 & 4

There will be 4 separate games (each getting slightly harder) at four separate times.

Game 1 (slightly easier) – 1:30pm – Y3/4 spelling words (MEDIUM)
Game 2 (slightly harder) – 1:35pm – Y3/4 spelling words (EXTREME)
Game 3 (hard) – 1:40pm – Y5/6 spelling words (MEDIUM)
Game 3 (v.hard) – 1:45pm – Y5/6 spelling words (MEDIUM)

To join these you have to first access the hive game option:

Then, enter the correct code into the box:

You can join more than one game if you wish. Just make sure you’re at the waiting screen ready for the time the game will start,

If you wish to play the second game, just end the game (after it has finished) and enter the code for second hive game and wait for that one to begin.

After each round, it will show the top 3 scores for that round and then the top 3 scores overall. After all three games have finished, I will post the top 3 scores from each game on the school website. Good luck!

Hugs from Brown Clee!

What a lovely idea! Archie went for a walk up Brown Clee Hill yesterday and let a helium balloon go, sending hugs out during lockdown!

Good Morning Brown Clee!

Well day 5 of remote teaching and learning! We are missing you all, but the photos you send in are fantastic….we really look forwards to receiving them, so thank you!

A big thank you too for being so supportive and engaged with the learning that the teachers are setting! There is a treat in store today…a virtual guided tour of Chester Zoo! If you go to Class 1 or 2’s class news you’ll find the link!

I’m just getting ready to join Joe Wickes on his workout…so will be thinking of all the photos of everyone joining in through the week to motivate me!

Have a good weekend and stay safe!

More Lovely Work.

Hello everyone!

Thank you again for sending in all your lovely photos! I am so impressed with all the fantastic things you have been doing.

I have really enjoyed guessing the mini beast descriptions that were sent to me. I haven’t found out if I was right yet!

Here are some more pictures of your friends so you can see what they have been up to.

Extra activities

It is brilliant to see pictures of some of the other activities that children have been doing as well as the work set – you are fantastic Class 3!

Class 3 fitness

Well done again Class 3! You are really doing well keeping yourselves active and fit. We had another 18 miles covered today and now are down below 400.

396 miles left to go!! Let’s keep going and see if we can make it. If you aren’t already running or walking each day and sending in your distances see if you can make a start from now. Join us in making it to our finish line!

Afternoon update

Remember, you don’t need to be doing work all day. If you’re finding the work too much, you can always do something else instead. That said, the work I have been getting so far has been absolutely fantastic!

Feel free to send me in any videos or pictures of anything else you might be doing at home and I can share it on the website for everyone else to see.

class4@brownclee.shropshire.sch.uk.

Here’s Alex and her dog (Pepper) doing some home-made hurdling!

If anyone else has any pets who can do any tricks (or anything else you might be doing at home), please feel free to email me a picture or video.

I’m sure everyone would loved to see them!

Well done everyone – there were some closely fought games in there.

We’ll do it the same way again tomorrow: the codes will be on the morning’s activities.

Lunch time update

First of all, here’s some clues/a starting point if you’re stuck on the challenge question:

The most useful clue to start with is that the Irishman lives in the first house. Therefore, he cannot live in any of the other four houses, can’t be a bus driver (as the American is), can ‘t drink tea (because the Welshman does) and can’t have dogs (because the Scotsman does).

The 2nd most useful clue is that the Irishman lives next door to the blue house – and, as the the Irishman is in the first house, the 2nd house must be blue. If the 2nd house is blue, all the rest can’t be blue and the Englishman can’t live in the 2nd house as his house is red.

Here’s the start of my workings:

Secondly, a reminder that if you want to take part in any of our Hive Games today, the codes / times are below:

There will be 3 hive games today:

Game 1 (slightly easier) – 1:00pm – 594304
Game 2 (slightly harder) – 1:10pm – 799752
Game 3 (hard) – 1:20pm – 388369

You can join any of these hive games at any point; however, the game will not start until the time above, so make sure you’re ready to join in time.

P.E. Challenge

Here’s some videos of some of Class 4’s attempts at our P.E. challenge. I had another sent in by Maisie, but I haven’t been able to get the video to work on it yet.

Don’t forget, if you want to, you can have a go and send a video over the next few days.

Error on wordsearch!

Good morning again Class 3. Hugo has highlighted an error in the first word search!! The word Aqueduct is spelt incorrectly on the word search square and so it wrongly has the word mosaic across the middle of it….

Well spotted Hugo!

Class 1’s sharing post

Good morning!

I hope you are all feeling ok after your workout!

Here are some more photos of all your friends having fun and some of their work. Well done everyone such a fantastic effort!!!!

Here is an update to tell you what everyone has been up to…..

Ella has been busy writing about her pets, painting and even feeding the sheep!

Benji has been busy in the garden, doing yoga and the daily run.

Ida has been on her daily run, been drawing and baking cakes.

Joshua has enjoyed doing his maths outside using chalk and has written about his four dogs.

Zac, Sam and Joel have had lots of fun face painting. They went on a mini-beast hunt and collected worms to make a womery. They even ordered the worms according to their length.

George made a lovely mini-beast picture, has been on spelling shed and has also written about his pet dog.

Well done everybody!! I am looking forward to seeing what you have been up to today!

Home from Rome update

We have 414 miles still to go – I wonder whether we can get it down to the 400 mark today…

Hugo has marked out a track in his garden to to run for our “Home from Rome” challenge. Many of you are doing fantastically well and are now running and walking on a daily basis….keep sending the mails so that I can add the distances!
