Our first Well Done Assembly for parents and families to join will be held next Friday, 16th September.  It will start at 8.55am and all family members are welcome to join us to find out about what has been happening in school and celebrate lots of good learning!

You may have seen some recent news about the Bridgnorth School Uniform Bank that has opened in Bridgnorth Library.  Local Councillors and volunteers set up the scheme to ease pressure on families with regards costs of school uniform for the Bridgnorth schools.

We have been in touch and asked if Brown Clee C.E. Primary School could be included in the scheme, and GOOD NEWS – we can!

The clothes bank is open Monday to Saturday during library opening times, and at the moment is running through September. They ask that any donations of uniform are washed and folded, and if you are in need of any second hand uniform, then you are welcome you browse through whatever stock they may have.

There are two groupings for uniform: individual school-logo uniform, eg sweatshirts, and generic grey trousers, pinafores etc.

We were hoping to hold our end of year assembly outside and be open to all parents – but due to the hot weather we are going to have to hold it in the hall.  Therefore we will have to limit numbers due to capacity, and so will be for Year 6 parents only.

Ditton Priors is currently forecast to have top temperatures of about 38 degrees next week so we would like to remind parents of the importance of ensuring all children have sun screen protection, as well as a sun-hat and water bottle.  We are also suggesting that children wear their P.E. uniform (shorts and t-shirts) so that they are cooler.

We will be encouraging children to drink regularly throughout the day and to refill waterbottles when needed.

The Fireflies/Grasshoppers beach party is now taking place first thing on Monday morning to avoid the higher temperatures.

In the face of rising costs, we are having to raise the cost of a school meal from September to £2.50.  This is the first increase for many years, and will ensure that we can still provide good quality meals made with fresh produce.

We are looking forwards to welcoming parents, family and friends to watch the first performance of ‘Shakespeare Rocks’ by our KS2 children!  The doors will open at 1:40pm and we kindly ask that parents remain seated for the duration of the performance and also use all available chairs (please don’t leave empty chairs within a row).

Please note that there is a change of menu on the last day of term – as a special treat it will be hotdogs, chips and baked beans or peas, with jelly and ice cream!

Please can all children ensure they have had sun screen applied before coming to school, and also ensure they bring a sun hat and full water bottle to school.

We have received the following e-mail from Severn Valley as the baton will be travelling on the Railway on Saturday 23rd July from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth and they thought that some of our families may be interested –

We have the Queen’s Baton Relay for the Commonwealth Games coming to the Severn Valley Railway on Saturday 23rd July and we’d like to invite as many local people as possible to see the purple engine, Elizabeth II, and the baton travel along the tracks from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth.

We’re providing free entry to our stations for you see it:
– Bewdley Station at 10.22am
– Arley Station at 10.37am
– Highley Station at 10.47am
– Hampton Loade Station at 11.00am

Good Morning!  We have carried out a risk assessment and Sports Day is going ahead – we are just hoping the weather forecast is right and we manage to avoid any heavy rain showers this morning!

The gates will open for parents at 9.45am and races start at 10am.

We are hoping the picnic lunch will still be able to go ahead, but be prepared that this may have to be cancelled if the weather changes.

The school photographer will be collecting any orders for Class photographs on Thursday. Please could you send in any orders by Wednesday afternoon at the latest. Thank you.
