New age curling in class 2


Class 2 had fun trying a new sport this afternoon, there was lots of concentration and target practice.

World Book Day – Thursday 5th March

World Book Day

This year for World Book Day we shall be focusing on one book as a whole school. 

We have chosen:

The Huge Bag of Worries By Virginia Ironside

We will share the story together as a school and throughout the day each class will take part in activities inspired by the story. 

 

We are also inviting the children to bring in a fruit or vegetable fictional character that they have made. 

It could be a parsnip Harry Potter, an apple Mrs Twit or a banana Podkin One Ear! 

We look forward to seeing your creations!

More delicious Lamingtons!

William has also had a go at making Lamingtons, at home, with his mum and sister.

Making Lamingtons

Today, Class 2 have been busy making Lamingtons. They are an Australian cake made from square pieces of sponge cake, coated in chocolate sauce and sprinkled with coconut. In English, the children have been learning how to write instructions so they have been following a recipe carefully to make them.
