Here at Brown Clee C.E. Primary School we take part in and enjoy many different sports. Some we play competitively and others we play for fun and skills development. Many of the sports activities are run through lessons and after school clubs.
Our school is part of the TrustEd Sports Alliance, which is a sports partnership that operates over a network of 28 primary and secondary school. As such, our children are able to participate in a broad range of inter-school competitions as part of the national School Games programme. These include: football, netball, tag-rugby, cross country, basketball, rounders, cricket, athletics, swimming and dodgeball, to name but a few!
We also invite sports stars to visit us to inspire children to try out different activities and work harder to achieve our aims. Most recently we hosted Dominic Cunningham, a world class gymnast, who gave us a spectacular presentation, and was a true role model for the growth mindset approach to learning that we encourage.

We have a Sports Co-ordinator (Mr Harley), and we apply our mission statement within the world of sport – which is to ‘nurture and empower all individuals to be the best they can be’. We aim to promote participation and involvement for all pupils, to allow them to experience high quality physical education as well as high quality out-of-school hours learning. As part of this we encourage children to set themselves a personal challenge, whether it is getting faster at running a mile, improve at their termly PE challenges or participating in our Bronze-Ambassador-led break-time activity clubs.
