White Rose Problems

It appears that White Rose Maths are having problems with the volume of traffic on their website this morning. Don’t worry if you can’t access the Maths at the moment, perhaps wait until later in the day and try again. I know that their IT department will be working very hard behind the scenes to rectify the situation.

STOP PRESS: Class 3 Class Book

The class book for Class 3 this term, is ‘The Golden Acorn’ by Catherine Cooper. It is an award winning fantasy, adventure story written by a local Shropshire author. The normal practice when share reading a class book, is for the class teacher to read aloud with children following with their own copy – this encourages individual reading, promotes comprehension and supports those children who may find it trickier to read on their own.

The Golden Acorn By Catherine Cooper

Mrs Heath has worked really hard in the holidays to seek permission from the author, Catherine Cooper (a local Shropshire author), and the publisher, Infinite Ideas, to get permission to record herself reading the book and post these recordings online.  These recordings will be used in the work being set for the class over the coming weeks.  It would be SO beneficial for all Class 3 children to have their own copy of the book too.  It is available on Amazon as a FREE Ebook at the moment – and of course you could also buy it as a paperback.

On the class pages Mrs Heath has kindly shared how you can download this FREE electronic version of this book, as well as how to download free Ereading software.

If you have any difficulties doing this please contact us to ask for help – as we really want to try and enable all children to enjoy this fantastic story! (I read it in the holidays – it is an exciting fantasy adventure story – and I know the children will love it!)

We are home from Rome!

Well done Class 3! I have just received an email from Oscar with his latest miles tally….and with that 5 miles we have crossed the finish line of our class challenge! We have arrived home from Rome! Very well done  to all of you for all your hard work over the term.

Charlie’s Easter cub!

Charlie has been walking every day to add miles to our total for the class challenge and along the way he had spotted some fox cubs. Yesterday he managed to get a picture of one of the cubs!
