Good morning everyone!

Most of you have got the pack that I sent home with some maths, reading comprehensions and grammar work, along with a yellow exercise book for working in. If you didn’t, don’t worry. The work in the packs is to dip into whenever you like. Each day I will set work for everybody on our class page. Hello Class 2!

Hello Class 2 and families,

I hope you are all very well. Even though we are not going to be in school for a while, we are going to try and continue with our learning together as best we can.

I will post work on our class page each morning at 8.45am.

On our class information page there is also a list of activities which should be completed daily.

Please use our class email address class2@brownclee.shropshire.sch.uk

to send me any work you would like to share with me or for any queries or questions.

Please let me know if your child is particularly interested in something and I will do my best to send you resources which will help them explore more about these things. Also, if you would like more resources for an area that your child is finding tricky.

I will get back to you between 10am – 12 each day.

Most of all, look after yourselves and let’s hope we are back together, at school, sooner rather than later!

Forest School – Class 2

All of Class 2 will be doing Forest School tomorrow. Please could you send your child in their Forest School clothes. They can stay in those clothes for the rest of the day, so uniform isn’t needed.
Thank you

Thank you!

Class 2 held their cake sale this afternoon, which was a great success! Thank you so much to all those who brought in cakes for us to sell, taking time to buy or make them. It was amazing how many we had! Also, to all the children across all the classes, that bought the cakes, we thank you very much for supporting this good cause. We have made £145, which is wonderful! We will split the money between ‘Koala Aid’ and ‘Wild2Free Kangaroo Sanctuary’. I’m sure they will be very grateful.
A special well done to Class 2 who wanted to do something to help and had the initial idea, designed and made the posters, talked to the other classes about it and worked in teams today to help decorate and sell some of the cakes.

Cake Sale – ‘Cakes for Koalas and Kangaroos’

Class 2 will be holding a cake sale, this week, on Thursday 12th March to raise money for koalas and kangaroos that have been affected by the terrible Australian wildfires. We will be sending the money to ‘Koala Aid’ and ‘Wild2Free Kangaroo Sanctuary’.
We would be very grateful if you could help us by bringing in cupcakes or buns for us to sell, on Wednesday or Thursday morning. We will be holding the cake sale on Thursday afternoon.
Thank you so much for your help!

Author Visit for World Book Day

We enjoyed a visit from the author Sarah Baker, this morning, to read her book, ‘The Catapult Kid’. The children loved listening to the story and joined in along the way.

Running Challenge

Our challenge to run the distance from Canberra to Sydney and back is going well. We have run 171 miles so we are 7 miles short of Sydney! Well done Class 2, a great team effort.

Australia so far!

Class 2 are half way through their work on Australia and have been so enthusiastic. They have covered lots of history and geography and produced some lovely artwork. We are looking forward to exploring the topic through our Science work after half term.
