Shropshire Council will be running the Holiday Fun and Food in Shropshire programme over the Easter holidays.  Children who are in receipt of Free School Meals can attend these activities free of charge using the code on a leaflet which will be sent home with them today.  Many of the activities also have paid places available for children not in receipt of Free School Meals, please see below for further details.

Laura and Carla will be serving a special menu to celebrate Chinese New Year on Tuesday 3rd March.

As we are unable to change the menu in ParentPay, if your child would like the Chicken Chow Mein please click on Cottage Pie and if they would like the Veg Chow Mein please click on the Veggie Pie option.  Jacket potatoes and sandwiches will also be available.

The Parenting Team at Shropshire Council have asked us to share the following –

The Parenting Team will be delivering free Understanding Your Child and Understanding Your Child with SEND – from toddler to teens – groups from April 2026.

These 10 week groups aim to:

•             Promote understanding of children’s behaviour within the context of developmental issues

•             Promote the development of parent/child relationship

•             Increase confidence and self-esteem in both parents and children

•             Give parents a strategy for repair when things go wrong

•             Promote reflective, sensitive and effective parenting

They are also offering free SLEEP TIGHT  and Sleep Tight with SEND groups from April and June 2026.

These 5 week workshops cover:

•             Recognising the role of sleep hygiene to improve sleep

•             Identifying causes of sleep issues and appropriate practical strategies to try

•             Completing sleep diaries and identifying potential sleep issues

Little Explorers are holding a Family and Friends Pot Painting Party on Saturday 14th March at Ditton Priors Village Hall. Please see the poster below for more details.

As Scorpions and Bees are currently studying the Vikings, Laura and Carla will be serving a special Viking inspired menu on Tuesday 3rd February (please see poster below).

As we are unable to amend the menu in ParentPay, if your child would like the beef stew please select the Fish Cake option, the veggie option is already showing as mac n cheese.

Friends of Brown Clee School (FOBCS) will be holding a meeting in the school hall on Monday 26th January at 5.30pm to discuss fundraising ideas.  Everyone is welcome and there will be tea, coffee and biscuits.

Laura and Carla will be serving Christmas Dinner on Thursday 18th December meaning that the menus for Wednesday and Thursday will be swapped.  Curry will be served on Wednesday.

Unfortunately we are unable to amend the menu is Parent Pay, therefore, if your child would like chicken curry on the Wednesday please click on the Roast of the Week, if your child would like the veggie curry click on Loaded Yorkshire.  On Christmas Dinner Day, if your child would like roast Turkey please click on the meat curry option and if they would like the Loaded Yorkshire please click on the veggie curry option.

HAF Winter 2025 What’s On_Email

FOBCS will be selling books of raffle tickets at the Christmas Carols Feast in school this afternoon starting at 4.30pm.  There will be stalls for you to purchase from and also hot pork baps, jumbo pigs in blankets hotdogs and festive drinks available to purchase.  Tickets will also be sold at the 2 Nativity performances before being drawn on 10th December at the evening Nativity Performance.  Tickets will also be sent home with the children or available from the school office.  Please see below for information on tonight’s event and details of the raffle prizes.

St John’s will be holding their Christmas Fayre this coming Saturday 29th November at The Pavilion.  Please see the poster below for more details.

If your child missed having the flu vaccination in school, the Shropshire Community Health Trust (SCHT) School Aged Immunisation Service (SAIS) team will be running a School aged Seasonal Flu (Reception Children to Year 11 pupils) walk-in clinic at Coral House, 11 Longbow Close, Shrewsbury SY1 3GZ on Saturday the 22nd November between 09.30am and 1.30pm.  Please see the poster below for more information.

The school choir will be taking part in a Christmas Concert which is being held by the Brown Clee Community Choir.  This takes place on Friday 12th December at the village hall.  Tickets are £10 per adult with children under 16 being free and includes refreshments.  More details of where to purchase tickets can be found on the poster below.

Thanks to your generosity the school has raised £216.50 for the Poppy Appeal this year.  The total for the area was £1983.93 plus the Church Service Collection.

Please see the poster below giving more details of the FOBCS Christmas Carols Feast being held in school on Thursday 27th November.  There will then be the chance to walk to the Church for the light switch on and Carol singing.  There will be a stall selling Christmas crafts which the children have made and also a cake stall.
