Now that the weather has begun to pick up, we are looking to organise a working party at school to tidy up the school grounds – and would really appreciate any volunteers (adults and children) to join together on Wednesday 1st April and Saturday 4th April (during Easter) to try and tackle some of the key areas to get things tidied as much as possible.
We’d be looking at trying to complete as much of the following:
- Clearing fallen leaves and debris from playgrounds/paths and fields
- Tidying edges of playgrounds/field
- Clean and painting/treating fences
- Clean, fix and paint/treat gazebo
- Clean signs
- Clear leaves and debris from bottoms of hedges
- Tidy and clear forest school
- Clear channel drains around playground
- Any other ideas anyone has on the day
If anyone has any equipment – e.g brooms/leaf blowers/jet wash – that could be useful, that would also be really appreciated.
We would also be looking at providing refreshments for the volunteers on the day.
If anyone is able to help, please indicate on the following form: Working Party – School Grounds – Fill in form – so that we can have an idea of how to plan out what we do.
If children are joining, they will also need to help. Older children (i.e. Year 5/6) could join on their own (if parents wish); however, all other children will need an adult present to be responsible for them (this does not need to be their parent).
