We thought it would be helpful to remind parents of the guidance with regards testing, isolating and close contacts, as there have been so many updates and changes!
TESTING
If you your child develops:
- a high temperature
- a new, continuous cough
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
your child should self-isolate immediately and book a PCR test. If the results come back as negative then children can return to school.
ISOLATING
If you have any of the above symptoms, or have tested positive on an LFT, then you need to isolate for 5 days. On the 5th and 6th day, you need to take LFTs, 24 hours apart, and if these are both negative then your isolation can end. You need 2 negative LFTs or to reach 10 days before you can leave isolation.
CLOSE CONTACTS
If you are a close contact of someone who has tested positive, then you don’t have to isolate – you just need to take daily LFTs and continue as normal.
With all of the above, we really appreciate being kept informed, particularly with regards PCR test results. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
