Reflection Time and Prayer of the Day

Good Morning Brown Clee!

This week we have been thinking about Self Control as a follow on from our focus on THINK before you speak, and linking to this we have learnt about the Fruit of the Spirit. We learnt that Paul wrote in his letter to the Galatians, to help them to understand that the fruits of the Holy Spirit are the good habits, the virtues, the good deeds that come from living as a child of God.

Can you remember what the Fruits of the Spirit are?….

We talked about how fruit grows and changes, and then reflected on how we change and grow…

Have a watch and listen to this video from the Pace Trust, about how we change and grow – on the inside!  Have a think as you watch about how you have changed – and how you want to change and grow in the future – what sort of person do you want to be…..what habits are you going to grow?

Have a think now about what bad habits you might have …. how could you change and turn them into good habits?  How can you develop the fruit of the spirit in yourself so that you can grow love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, kindness, faithfulness, goodness and self-control?

Let’s take a silent moment to reflect – what sort of person do you want to be?  What can you do to grown into that person?

Prayer of the Day

Dear God,
Thank you for the beauty of the world around us and for the lessons that we can learn from nature.
Please help us to develop good qualities in our lives.
Help us to grow in love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Help us to treat others with respect.
Amen.
