Can we please remind you that the correct procedure for collecting your child/children at the end of the day, is for parents to come on to the playground. This is purely for ensuring your child’s safety as if you stand on the pavement or at the side waiting, children cannot easily see if you are there.
Children have been instructed that they are not allowed to leave the playground by themselves. If you are late, children know to stay and wait on the playground where a member of staff will then take your child inside until you can arrive to collect.
If parents of Year 5 or 6 pupils wish to allow their children to leave the playground independently then we need to have this in writing as we are then not responsible for their safety once they have left the school playground gate.
