We have now received the letter following the recent Ofsted Inspection. As it was a Short Inspection we receive a letter instead of a full report. We are really pleased with some of the observations that the Inspector made about the children and the school.
He noted that ‘the school is well led’, there is a ‘strong team ethic’, that ‘expectations are high’ and that ‘pupils enjoy school’ and ‘have good attitudes to learning. They are well motivated and keen to do well.’
Safeguarding was highlighted as a strength with the Inspector noting that ‘Keeping pupils safe has a high profile in the school’ and that ‘pupils feel safe and well cared for in school.’
The recommended next steps were ‘Leaders and those responsible for governance should ensure that the curriculum in all subjects is as well planned and sequenced as it is in English and mathematics, so that pupils’ learning and knowledge build logically and
systematically as they move through the school.’ This is an area that we had already identified as an area of development on our 2018-19 School Improvement Plan, where we had set target one to be to ‘Evaluate and develop curriculum planning further to ensure all subjects are taught with depth and progression and that all staff have a deep knowledge and understanding of all subjects.’
