Good morning.
Here’s this week’s rough timetable of what this week would look like if we were in school. Again, the amount of work isn’t going to be as much as if we were in school, but you may find it useful to follow. If you’d rather structure your day a different way, please feel free.
If you would like to join today’s live quiz, please email as soon as possible.
Handwriting
Find the last few pages you read of your reading book and practise your handwriting by copying it up for 20-30 minutes.
Maths: Calculating perineter
Today, we are going to be looking continue building on our learning on perimeter.
Here is today’s video – which talks through this idea with some diagrams and calculations: https://vimeo.com/477528979
Here is today’s work sheet: Calculate perimeter – 12.02
Maths: Extension
Here are some optional questions for you to have a go at today after finishing the main activity if you want something a bit more challenging (there’s an extra challenge question today).
Maths Extension – 12.02
Sentence / Fragment / Run-on
As we usually do in school, here is a Sentence / Fragment / Run-on task:
The first page is just information / a recap on the difference is between an sentence, a fragment and a run-on.
Sentence, Fragment, Run-on 12.02
TTRS/Spelling Shed
Today for Spelling Shed and TTRS, we are going to have some Hive Games and Arena matches.
TTRS arena games are going to be tricky, but if as many of you as possible plan to go on the Arena game mode at 11:00, then there should be enough to play games against each other.
I have also set up some Hive Games on Spelling Shed – we will start the first of these games at 11:40 and once finished, we will start the next game straight after.
Here are the codes for these games:
GAME 1: 285339
GAME 2: 137519
GAME 3: 389316
GAME 4: 457813
Class Read
Here is the second half of chapter 16:
Spellings
Here is today’s spelling pattern. We are beginning to look at words ending in “ant”.
Here is your worksheet for this: -ant – (1)
Independent Reading
As always you should be trying to read every day. However, as we would usually do after spellings (in school), it would be great if you could spend an extra 30 minutes reading.
Art
In art today, you are going to continue designing your actual piece of pottery (hopefully, when we’re back in school, you will then get to make these from clay). You should have drawn the design of your pot from one angle last week. This week, you are going draw it from several different angles (e.g. a top-down view, front and back views, a bottom view). You could even choose to draw a close-up of certain elements (e.g. the lid or handles).
As always, please email me (class4@brownclee.shropshire.sch.uk) any question if you are confused with or don’t understand anything.
I look forward to hearing from you.
