This week, Class 1 have been learning about the history of our school. This involved taking a walk to see the old primary school which is now a house. We also visited the Ditton Priors museum and the Railway museum. The children enjoyed looking at lots of photos and artefacts which gave them a sense of what school life would have been like in the 1900’s. They also discovered how Station Road got its name. The children learnt that stone from the quarries on top of the hill were transported on the local railway. On our way back to school we went to see what was left of the old station platform.
A big thank you must go to Rona and Bob for opening up the museums especially for the school!
