Reflection Time and Prayer of the Day

Good Morning Brown Clee!

I hope you have all had a good weekend!

Last week we thought about Respect and Diversity – and how we are all different but all the same – we are all human.  We enjoyed the story called “Mixed” where we learnt about how the world is a brighter and better place because of the rich, variety of colours.

One of the differences humans have, is that we all have different coloured skin, and that difference can sometimes be the source of a particular type of bullying, called racism.  This has been in the news a lot recently, as people over the world are protesting to ensure that “Black Lives Matter” – as historically people with black skin have not always been treated equally.

These are a couple of videos from CBeebies and Blue Peter, and I think they make for interesting listening…

“Be Kind” is such a simple but such an important message – can you imagine what sort of world this would be if everyone was kind to each other??

So today, why don’t you do at least one kind thing for someone else, or say one kind thing to someone else. Let’s start small but aim big to try and make our future world a better place for everyone.

Prayer of the Day

Dear God,
Help me to know that we are wonderful in all our differences.
Help me to say kind words to others.
Help me to think about other people and to remember that my words make a big difference to them.
Please help me to help those who are sad.
Thank you that your words to me are always kind.
Amen.
